After graduating, she went on to get her M.Phil in economics from Oxford University. Furchtgott-Roth was an economist on the staff of President Ronald Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers in 1986–87. During 1991–93, she was deputy executive director of the White House Domestic Policy Council and associate director of the Office of Policy Planning under President George H. W. Bush. In 2001–02, Furchtgott-Roth was the chief of staff of President George W. Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers. Furchtgott-Roth was an economist on the staff of President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers in 1986–87. Furchtgott-Roth is currently a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and director of e21.
